- The DM…TA type instrument transformers (CTs) are installed in an electrical system to the reduce line current to a secondary value of 5A compatible with the ammeter inputs of the digital multimeters or protection relays. DM…TA are instrument transformers in class 0.5/1 without a primary winding and are normally used for high primary current values starting from 250A.
