The SITI BH160 is a bevel-helical gear unit from SITI Riduttori’s BH series, with output torque up to 8000 Nm and reduction ratios from 7.56:1 to 186:1. Built to order and supplied Australia-wide by Mechtric.

About the Bevel-Helical series

  • Bevel-helical (orthogonal-axis) gearboxes with three reduction stages: an input cylindrical helical gear pair, a mid-stage spiral-bevel Gleason gear pair (Duplex-type toothing), and a final cylindrical helical/involute gear pair (p.5-6).
  • Made in 9 frame sizes (56 through 200); across the whole range rated transmissible output torque spans 180 Nm to 14,000 Nm (p.5) — Mechtric's BH63-BH200 subset spans 450-14,000 Nm.
  • Gear tooth load capacity verified to DIN 3990, UNI 8862, AGMA 2001 B88 and the ISO 6336 draft, calculating both surface pitting resistance and root bending strength (p.5).
  • Gearing is case-hardening steel 20MnCr5 (or equivalent), case-hardened, quenched and stress-relieved for high static/dynamic and wear resistance (p.5-6).
  • Output shaft bearings: radial ball bearings standard on sizes 56-125 (taper roller bearings available on request); taper roller bearings are standard-fit on sizes 140-200 (p.5).
  • Housing material: aluminium EN AC-46100 only on the smallest size (56); cast iron EN-GJL-250 for every other size — so all of Mechtric's BH63-BH200 frames are cast iron (p.6).
  • Dynamic efficiency rated at 0.92 (p.6-7).
  • Sold in three input configurations: BH (solid input shaft), MBH (PAM adapter for direct IEC B5 motor mounting — not offered on sizes 180/200), MBHGC (input via flexible coupling + bell-housing — not offered on size 56) (p.7).
