About the Inline Helical series

• Coaxial (in-line) helical gearboxes available as a solid-input-shaft version (NHL) or a version pre-arranged for IEC motor mounting via a B5/B14 PAM adapter (MNHL) -- same gearbox, different input arrangement.
• Offered with two reduction stages (ratio approx. 2:1 to 50:1) or three reduction stages (ratio up to approx. 466:1 on some sizes); the third stage restores full input/output coaxiality except on sizes 90 and 100.
• All gears are case-hardening steel (20MnCr5 or equivalent strength/hardenability material), case-hardened, quenched and stress-relieved for resistance to static/dynamic loads and wear; output shafts are hardening-and-tempering steel 42CrMo4.
• Housings are ribbed cast iron G25 to UNI 5007 on all sizes except NHL20, which uses pressure die-cast aluminium; the aluminium NHL20 housing needs no painting, while all other sizes are finished in RAL 5010 polyester powder coat.
• High dynamic efficiency: 0.97 for the two-stage version, 0.955 for the three-stage version.
• Rated to accept high external radial and axial loads in any orientation, per the catalogue's load tables; max allowable output torques are calculated to ISO 6336.
• Sizes 20/25/30/35 are supplied pre-filled with ISO VG 220 mineral oil; sizes 40 and up ship unlubricated but pre-arranged for oil lubrication (fitted with fill, drain and level plugs) -- oil quantity depends on mounting position.
• Six standard mounting positions (B3, B6, B7, B8, V5, V6) across the range, defaulting to B3 if not specified; compact, low-backlash construction suited to high input speeds and frequent start/stop duty.
